Prior to writing information reports, Ospreys have been using the internet to find out interesting facts about animals from hot and cold climates.
Ospreys learnt how to make ginger beer on Tuesday. The children were divided into 3 groups with each group following a different recipe. After the beer had been made each one was tasted. The most popular recipe was the ‘Cheat’s Ginger Beer’ recipe however it wasn’t as popular as the mass produced one we also tried! We need to practise more!
Ospreys have made and decorated letters to make a special banner for Mrs Merriman. The banner will let everybody know when Mrs Merriman’s door is open or when Mrs Merriman is in a meeting. The children used many different techniques to make such a fantastic banner. Ospreys presented the banner to Mrs Merriman on Thursday.
Ospreys have been learning all about Rounders with Sean from Atlas Sports. They have been throwing and catching but this week they learnt how to use the bat in rounders.
Look at the fantastic pictures below.
A new sign is being created to go outside the front of the school. It will be a huge Kestrell with lots of things on it to represent what goes on in our school. This week, Ospreys made their contribution by drawing cakes and making planets.
In art, Ospreys learnt all about the work of American artist, Georgia Okeeffe, who was famous for painting still life in extreme close up. We painted our own pictures of bright and colourful flowers, inspired by her unique style.
In our ICT this term, Ospreys have been learning about control, by putting algorithms into the Bee-Bots to make them move. We also drew roads, so next week we will see if we can make our Bee-Bot travel along the road without getting lost!
Ospreys have been learning about 3D shapes and these are some shapes we have found around school.
Can you name the shape?
